ROC the Day is a 24-hour, online event that you can join to support any and all of the not-for-profit organizations doing great work in the nine-county Greater Rochester area.

How much good can be done in one day? How much of a difference can one person make? Find out on 12.8.2011 as our community comes together for 24 hours of unprecedented giving to make a positive impact in people’s lives. Yours included.

FCDSN provides education to new parents and professionals in the form of Birth Packets that are distributed in local area hospitals or to individuals. 

FCDSN provides support for our member families by sponsoring 4 age-appropriate social groups that plan social events and activities, as well as hosting an annual day long conference, and two member appreciation events to encourage our member families to meet and network with other families in similar life circumstances.

FCDSN provides several reimbursement programs for our members to encourage individuals with Down syndrome (whether infants, toddlers, 'tweens, teenagers, or adults) to participate in activities, classes, and social events that they may otherwise be unable to attend.

Parent Support Meeting

The next Parent Support meeting will be on December 20th from 6-8 p.m. at Pieters Family Life Center.  The topic for this month is Sibling Support.

A very informal meeting with a panel of a few people to offer parents insight to their first-hand experience of having a sibling with Down syndrome.

FCDSN ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

 Sunday ~ June 10th, 2012

2011 marks FCDSN’s 20th Anniversary!  What an accomplishment.

You may be wondering what type of celebration we are having this year?  Well we decided to do something a little different – to celebrate on our 21st Anniversary – in honor of the real name for Down syndrome – which is Trisomy 21 (triplication of the 21st chromosome)!

We have secured The Roger Robach Community Center (Bathhouse) in Charlotte for a community-wide celebration!  Stay tuned for more information on this amazing milestone event.
